What to Expect at Mt Olive Church
So what’s it like to walk through the doors of Mount Olive? We hope you feel comfortable and encouraged! We understand that taking that first step can be difficult and perhaps even scary. Below you’ll find a synopsis of what you can expect each Sunday at Mt Olive. So, why don’t you come visit? You may find this to be the right place for you!
Sunday Morning Services
The sanctuary is located at the corner of Lafayette and Knox behind Main Street in Van Buren. MO has two identical Sunday morning services at 9:00am and 10:45am for you to choose from. Our services begin with upbeat and current music through a live band followed by a Biblical message that is real and easy to relate to your own struggles and celebrations in life.
Parking
Parking is located in two areas close to the sanctuary from both Lafayette and Knox Street. Look for our parking signs to help guide you!
Greeters
We hope you will encounter a couple of friendly faces to welcome you to MO on the front steps of our sanctuary on Sunday morning. Our greeters will hand you a bulletin that offers upcoming information and an outline for the message.
Welcome Area
Located in the back of the sanctuary you’ll find some great refreshments and coffee. Please stop by our welcome area before or after the service. We want to meet you personally and offer you any additional information or answer any questions you may have about MO.
KidMO (that’s ‘Kid-Mt Olive)
A full children’s program is available is available for Kindergarten to 6th grade. Our elementary curriculum is based on Luke 2:52 – “…and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.” Our time is divided into large froup and small group settings. We worship together, play together, do activities together, and pray together. Each week we use various Scripture to teach one of these three basic concepts: I need to make the wise choice. I can trust God no matter what. I should treat others the way I want to be treated. Visit www.252basics.org for more info and parent stuff.
MiniMO (that’s Mini-Mt Olive)
Nursery – Our nursery begins at 2 months of age. Toddlers ‘graduate’ out of our nursery when they turn 1 year and can walk.
1 Year to Pre-K – First Look is a unique approach to curriculum designed to give preschool children a first impression of their loving heavenly Father. We focus on these 3 basic concepts: God Made Me! God Loves Me! Jesus Wants To Be My Friend Forever! You can visit www.myfirstlook.org for more info and parent stuff.
Children’s Ministry Security Check
We take the safety and security of our children very seriously. A computer will be located just inside the doors of KidMO and MiniMO. Your child will check-in for class here and each family will be assigned a number and be given a badge with your family’s number on it. You will return the badge to the check-in station and pick up your child(ren) when your ready. KidMO and MiniMO servant staff will have black T-shirts that say “STAFF” on the back.

We have a class called MO 1.0 available the second Sunday evening of every month. This is our membership class which focuses on our mission and vision for Mount Olive Church. It is everything you wanted to know and more!
Love MO and want to get involved?
We encourage you to begin involvement at MO through any of our Life Groups. We weren’t meant to “do life” on our own. We were designed to walk together, work together, grow together and glorify God together. Check out our Life groups. Not all Life Groups are the same but they all have the same purpose – to help you grow your faith in an environment that is encouraging, supportive, challenging, and loving.
